What if I want to back two projects?

Simply choose one of the rewards to back and increase the pledge amount by the total amount of all the rewards you would like. For example, get a $25 and $45 reward by choosing the $25 reward and manually increasing the pledge by an extra $45, for a grand total of $70. At the end of the campaign, we’ll send you both rewards and you’ll get a chance to tell us which you’d like in the shipping survey you get from Kickstarter. How long do the shrimp live?

The shrimp hatch in 2-3 days depending on how warm the water is, ideal temp is 80 degrees, not hotter than 84. Cooler is okay but may take a few more days to hatch. Shrimp take a few weeks to grow to full size, up to two months. As shrimp mature you will notice some form eggs of their own, once they eggs are ready they will hatch replacing the shrimp. The cycle will continue as long as they were a good supply of food growing for them and the container is not placed in direct sunlight. There may be times when a complete reset happens. This occurs if something is off in the microcosm, such as a lack of oxygen from too many shrimp, or not enough food for the same reason. In this instance, all shrimp may die at once. Be patient, this is simply a restart and the eggs they formed will hatch when the conditions return to normal again. Last updated: Wed, Mar 9 2016 7:11 pm EST

How many vials come in the TerraSphere Zero Kit?

The kit comes with four vials, enough to start the cycle in the hand-blown glass vessel. Last updated: Wed, Mar 9 2016 8:11 pm EST

What is the container size and volume of the TerraSphere?

The total vessel measures 10” tall and 7” wide. It holds 100 ounces / 3 liters of water, total. However, the fill line holds 60 ounces of water, which requires 4 vials of TerraSphere Starter. Last updated: Fri, Mar 11 2016 6:10 pm EST

Can I use less than 4 vials for the TerraSphere kit, and save the rest?

No. The glass vessel size requires the use of all 4 vials for the cycle to work properly. The vials not only contain dormant eggs, but they also contain pH conditioner and sea salt. The blend in each vial is made for 16 oz. of water, which creates a pH level of 8.0+, any less and the shrimp will not hatch. Last updated: Mon, Mar 14 2016 4:51 pm EDT

What is the TerraShere’s salinity?

Salinity is 29 ppt / about 1.02 specific gravity, at the optimal 80F and would vary slightly in cooler temperatures. Last updated: Mon, Mar 14 2016 8:54 pm EDT

Does the TerraSphere need light?

Yes, indirect sunlight or artificial light is required for eggs to hatch. Placing a desk lamp near the TerraSphere, especially during the first week will help maintain light and temperature. Last updated: Mon, Mar 14 2016 8:54 pm EDT

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
